Tour of the continental part of Montenegro – the whole country from south to north

Biogradska Gora

A trip deep into the continental part of Montenegro towards Kolasin, where the picturesque Biogradska Gora National Park is located, which is a mountain range covered with dense forest, surrounded by beautiful river valleys. This is the oldest park in Europe, where the cleanest air is like nectar. You will see Biogradsko Lake, the largest of the 6 glacial lakes scattered in this amazing place.

Durmitor and the Tara River Canyon

Further, the journey continues towards the Durmitor National Park and the Tara River Canyon. The Tara River, 150 km long, is the longest river in Montenegro. This unique river is called “The Tear of Europe” because of its purity and beauty. The Tara River Canyon, with its magnificent wildlife, is the second largest in the world after the Colorado River Canyon, reaching a depth of 1300 meters at Churovets.

Dzurdzeva Tara Bridge

Stop near the Dzhurdzheva Tara bridge, which has become one of the symbols of the river. The bridge, built in 1937, was destroyed during the Second World War and reconstructed in 1946. The bridge is 145 meters long and 135 meters high.

Black Lake

Mount Durmitor is distinguished by its extraordinary beauty. The 18 icy lakes known as Gorske Ochi (Mountain’s Eyes) are a distinct, outstanding feature of the landscape. Nowhere in the world is there such a large concentration of lakes in such a small area. The trip continues to one of the most beautiful lakes – Black Lake.
